I've attended one birth at Greenville so far, supporting an unmedicated birth. While I have more experience at some of the other hospitals I serve, I know what it's like to support a client there, including navigating triage, waiting for the room you want, and adapting when labor doesn't go exactly as planned.

Supporting an Unmedicated Birth

​

The birth I attended in Greenville was unmedicated. My client spent extra time in triage while waiting for a room with a tub, but once she was moved we worked with what we had. She labored on the toilet, using movement and position changes to cope with contractions while we waited. Birth doesn't always happen exactly the way we picture it, and having someone there to help you adapt without losing sight of your goals can make a big difference.

Staying Confident in Your Choices

During this birth, my client also experienced some pressure from her provider while working toward an unmedicated birth. My role was to keep her grounded, help her understand her options, and support her decisions.

I won't make decisions for you or tell you what you should do. I'll help you ask questions, understand your options, and stay connected to what matters to you.

Preparing for Greenville

​

My birth plans are intentionally in-depth. We'll talk through comfort measures, positions, partner support, your preferences, and what you might do if things change. My goal is for you and your partner to walk into the hospital feeling prepared while knowing that flexibility is part of birth.

 

I've only attended one birth at Greenville so far, but I'm happy to bring that experience, along with my broader birth experience, to families choosing Greenville for their birth.
